Senior Project Coordinator - International Projects

Sydney based
Part-time - 16 hours per week

An exciting opportunity exists to join our International Projects team at Family Planning
NSW to manage reproductive and sexual health projects in the Pacific region.

Reporting to the Director of Operations and International Projects, you will be responsible for
the coordination, evaluation and reporting on defined projects in the Solomon Islands, Fiji and other Pacific countries. You will be working closely as part of a team to ensure that all project deliverables are managed according to funding and accreditation requirements.

You will have extensive experience in managing projects in the Pacific, have experience in
the delivery of reproductive and sexual health programs and have good communication skills. 

 Your responsibilities will include the following:

  1. Provide project coordination and support to the International projects as follows:
    • Aid partners and sub contractors to ensure commitments to AusAID
      and other donors are fulfilled;
    • establish & maintain infrastructure support as required;
    • ensure all contractual obligations are met;
    • ensure all AusAID accreditation requirements are implemented and maintained; and
    • ensure program quality

      2.   Complete all project design, reporting and other documentation requirements 
            to schedule.

      3.   Ensure projects are delivered within available budget in consultation with Accountant
            SH&FPA. 

      4.  Collaborate with the International Program Team to meet required International Program outcomes.

      5.  Effective coordination of designated international programs including AusAID funded ANCP projects

To be successful in this role, you will have the following skills:

ESSENTIAL

  • A relevant degree and/or experience in international development programs
  • Significant experience in managing international projects
  • Strong promotion/advocacy and networking skills
  • Experience in project and program budgets
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects and work within timeframes and budgets
  • Experience in sexual and reproductive health programs
  • Demonstrate high level verbal and written communication skills
  • Well developed interpersonal, negotiating and relationship building skills
  • Understanding of international development issues in South Pacific/PNG, SE Asia
  • High level of cross cultural knowledge and awareness
  • Ability to travel periodically in the South Pacific/PNG, SE Asia
  • Excellent time management and personal organisation skills
  • Ability to work both within a team and independently

     

    DESIRABLE

  • Experience in international development in the Asia Pacific region
  • Significant experience in managing AusAID funded international projects
          in particular ANCP projects
  • Experience in the development and delivery of community education and
          training programs in a developing country.
