Application Guidelines
Appointments to positions within Family Planning NSW are on the basis of the applicant's merit in relation to the selection criteria. Appointing applicants based on merit aims to ensure that the best person for the job is employed. It gives all people the right to be considered for a job on the basis of their abilities, qualifications, experience, and standard of work performance. Following are some tips for completing your job application:
- Read the advertisement/position summary carefully. Assess whether you can demonstrate that you meet the selection criteria outlined.
- Ring the contact person listed on the advertisement. The contact person will send you a copy of the position description.
- Read through the position description. If you have further questions call or email the contact person as soon as you can. Speaking with the contact person will help you decide whether to apply for the position.
- Get as much information about Family Planning NSW as you can, it will help you write a good application.
- You will need to apply in writing for all positions advertised by Family Planning NSW.
Requirements
1. A covering letter that addresses the selection criteria. Make a separate heading for each one, describe your skills, knowledge and experience and show how they could be used in the job (recommended maximum length; two to three pages).

- education & training
