'Love is a Battlefield' for Mardi Gras 2010

Family Planning NSW - The Warehouse Youth Health Centre and its Same Sex Attracted Youth (SSAY) group will be entering a float in the 2010 Sydney Mardi Gras with the theme "Love is a Battlefield", exploring the different relationship issues same-sex attracted young people face in the West.

SSAY members have spent many afternoons and evenings preparing their costumes, dance moves and float design to march in this year's parade.

The Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras is an annual gay pride parade and festival for the LGBT community in Sydney and is held this year on 27 February.  It is the largest event of its kind in the world and many young people from all over NSW, including Western Sydney, are again taking part in the festivities.

Additionally, on 25 February at 5pm, Family Planning NSW - The Warehouse is hosting "West Reflects - youth  participation in Mardi Gras", which will be an evening of celebration of  past Mardi Gras Parade costumes, photographs and media announcements which focus on young people and services from Western Sydney.
