Health Promotion Officer - CALD

Health Promotion Officer – Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) Program
Part Time – 21 hours per week
Fairfield based

Family Planning NSW is an independent, not-for-profit organisation focussing on the promotion, collection and dissemination of reproductive and sexual health knowledge, information and learning to people in NSW.

The primary role of the Health Promotion Officer is to deliver high quality health promotion projects to address the reproductive and sexual health needs of people from CALD communities. The Health Promotion Officer will play an active role in the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of health promotion projects utilising evidence based frameworks. These projects are diverse and include community based campaigns, resource production, community or organisational capacity building and research. 

We are seeking applicants who have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in health promotion, public health, social science (with a health promotion major), health education or related field
  • Experience conducting needs analyses including literature reviews and conducting a socio-demographic picture of the community population of interest
  • Experience formulating measurable goals and objectives to inform a health promotion program
  • Proven ability to incorporate evaluation into the planning of health promotion programs. This experience should include the ability to design evaluation plans
  • Experience in establishing partnerships with relevant organisations and facilitating collaborative action
  • Demonstrated ability and experience in the design, delivery and evaluation of community based education projects which utilise evidence based strategies
