Health Promotion
Family Planning NSW Dubbo provides health promotion and education, services to schools and other community groups in Dubbo and surrounding areas. Training and education of health professionals is also provided to Dubbo and surrounding areas in collaboration with the Family Planning NSW Professional Education Unit.
Aboriginal Well Women's Clinics
Family Planning NSW Dubbo provides a safe and friendly environment for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women. Dedicated clinics are held at the Family Planning NSW Centre to provide a safe environment for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women to talk to female doctors and nurses about women's business - Pap tests, STI checks, contraceptive advice, pregnancy advice, menopause and menstral problems.
Aboriginal Women's Clinics
Aboriginal Specific Women’s Health clinics are held four times per year and Aboriginal Women can ring to make a booking or just drop in on the day. The next dates are:
- Monday 14 May
- Monday 13 August
- Monday 19 November
Aboriginal Women's Advisory Group
The Dubbo Centre hosts the Aboriginal Women’s Advisory Group. The purpose of this group is to advise, support and offer recommendations on the creation of partnerships with local Indigenous services, organisations and Aboriginal community people including, government and non-government agencies to promote reproductive and sexual health services.
Membership is open to Aboriginal women in the local communities who have a role in supporting women and promoting the importance of reproductive and sexual health for people in NSW. The Aboriginal Women’s Advisory Group meetings are held bi monthly on the second Wednesday of the month. The meetings generally last one hour from 12.30pm to 1.30 pm. Lunch is provided.
