Copper IUD study

Overview of Study

Copper-bearing IUDs (intrauterine devices) are an important method of contraception for women in Australia. This study recruited women who have chosen to use a copper-bearing IUD as their method of contraception. We aim to find out why women choose this method and their experiences with the IUD over a three year period, including bleeding patterns and how long women continue to use the IUD. The study findings will provide essential information for both women and health practitioners.

Recruitment to this study has now ceased.
