Position summary

The Education Coordinator and Designer will provide educational leadership in the development, coordination, delivery and evaluation of clinical and multidisciplinary courses, workshops and seminars for both Family Planning NSW clinical staff and external course participants.

The Education Coordinator and Designer will ensure sound adult education teaching and learning strategies are used to guide best practice in the development and use of educational resources (online, face to face and clinical) for Family Planning NSW courses and projects.

The Education Coordinator & Designer will work directly with the Medical Education Officers and Nurse Educators and liaise with the Family Planning NSW Clinical Services, Education Officer Compliance, clinicians and subject matter experts to achieve this goal.

Responsibilities

Course Coordination

  • Lead and coordinate the development, delivery and evaluation of high quality reproductive and sexual health education
  • Lead the marketing effort to promote Family Planning NSW courses, workshops and seminars
  • Oversee the management and accreditation of Family Planning NSW courses with RACGP, ACRRM and other accreditation bodies, as applicable
  • Provide direction and mentoring to clinicians, subject matter experts and course administration regarding educational, quality and administrative processes
  • Contribute to the management of online course processes and procedures
  • Manage user accounts

Course Design

  • Develop and design engaging, educationally sound courses  for delivery  online,  face to face delivery and in the clinical field
  • Proof read existing course documents and review course administrative areas for suitability, including maintaining a consistent look and feel across courses

Capacity Building

  • Maintain collaborative working relationships and external contractors to manage the integration of Moodle and other software in blended learning courses
  • Support colleagues  and learners in the effective use of online learning strategies

Project Management

  • Manage education projects, including working within timeframe, budget constraints and reporting on progress

Essential criteria

  • Tertiary qualifications in adult education or educational design
  • Experience in planning, designing and implementing curriculum for accredited education courses
  • Experience in the design, development and delivery of e-learning courses and resources for delivery online, virtual classrooms and webinar
  • Demonstrated experience in Moodle system management
  • Capacity to work cooperatively with professional content experts in the planning, development and implementation of curriculum and educational resources for specific courses and projects
  • Ability to work autonomously with limited supervision
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple projects
  • High level communication skills (written, oral, liaison, negotiation and presentation)
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Flexible and adaptable approach
  • Report writing skills
  • Computer literacy

Desirable criteria

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
  • Project management
