Who would benefit from this course

Individuals who work in community development and health promotion including community health centres, women's health, sexual health, youth organisations and migrant resource services.

Course description

In this highly practical course discover how to conduct successful community education projects. Whether your project is big or small, formal or informal, whatever the community education, the same planning skills are needed.

This two day course combines learning about project planning and information about community education.

Entry requirements / eligibility

Applicants must have sound language, literacy and numeracy skills to read and write documents, and be able to communicate appropriately both in a written and oral form.

Learning outcomes

  • Identify the education needs of different groups
  • Develop a project plan to promote and deliver a community education project
  • Choose education strategies and resources to meet a range of needs and learning styles
  • Review the effectiveness of community education outcomes.
