Course description

Are you a practising IUD inserter? Are you looking for opportunities to learn about the latest evidence based research and practice in IUD insertion and network with other IUD inserters?

This case discussion forum provides an excellent opportunity for you to connect with experts and peers to receive updates, discuss interesting cases, and have your questions answered. Facilitated by experienced Family Planning NSW clinicians, this forum will include specialist guest speakers to present the latest information and practice guidelines on IUDs. Bring along any challenging cases from your own clinical settings to discuss on the night with fellow practitioners within the field.  

Who should attend?

Doctors, nurses and midwives who insert IUDs in their practice.

Course structure

Face-to-Face Workshop

3 hour discussion forum

Eligibility / Prerequisite

Current registration with the Medical Board of Australia or Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.

This event is recommended for clinicians who are current IUD inserters.

Adequate professional indemnity insurance is required and is the sole responsibility of the participant.



Recognition / Accreditation

Participants who attend the whole forum will receive a Statement of Attendance.

RACGP Activity Number 84838, this activity is accredited for 5 Category 2 points as part of the RACGP Quality Improvement & Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Program in the 2017-2019 Triennium.

This course is equivalent to 3 hours to meet the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) requirements for CPD.
