Refresher Day for Doctors

Course description

Refresher Day for Doctors offers a high level, annual update in research and best practice in reproductive and sexual health. Presented by eminent specialists in the field, this event is designed for those who already have knowledge and experience in reproductive and sexual health, providing an opportunity to extend and reflect on your knowledge and skills. The event allows time for interactive discussions with the subject matter specialists and experienced clinicians on challenging cases from your own practice.

Content may include:

  • Pre-conception counselling and testing

  • Sexually transmissible infections – updates and case studies (STIs)

  • Urogynaecology presentations in general practice

  • National Cervical Screening Program – beyond the specialist referral

Who should attend?

Doctors including registrars who wish to update their existing knowledge and experience of reproductive and sexual health.

Course structure

Pre-workshop activities

Completion of pre-disposing activity (RACGP Category 1 requirement) prior to attendance.

Face-to-Face Workshop

1 day and completion of reinforcing activity (RACGP Category 1 requirement).

Participants have access to the predisposing activity two weeks before the workshop and the reinforcing activity immediately after the workshop.

Eligibility / Prerequisite

  • Current registration with the Medical Board of Australia.

  • Previous completion of FPAA National Certificate in Reproductive and Sexual Health for Doctors course OR the Doctors Short Course in Reproductive and Sexual Health desirable.

  • Knowledge and experience in reproductive and sexual health.

  • Experience as a medical practitioner is desirable.

Recognition / Accreditation

Participants who attend the whole day will receive a Statement of Attendance.

RACGP Activity Number 126864, this activity is accredited for 40 Category 1 ALM points, as part of the RACGP Quality Improvement & Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Program in the 2017-2019 Triennium.
