Course description

Family Planning NSW remain passionate about supporting International Medical Graduates during this period of social distancing.  We are pleased that we are able to offer this course in a blended format. The course will now be delivered using online interactive webinars, independent learning activities, webcasts and Q & A sessions.

The IMG course is designed for overseas trained doctors with limited experience in reproductive and sexual health in the Australian setting.  The course provides up to date information on reproductive and sexual health in Australia to improve your knowledge and confidence in this topic area.

Content includes: 

  • Communication in primary health care 
  • Sexual history taking 
  • Contraception 
  • Sexually transmissible infections (STIs) 
  • Menopause  
  • Unintended pregnancy options
  • Case discussions 

Eligible participants to be considered should hold a current general, provisional or limited registration or application for registration with Medical Board of Australia.

 

Who should attend?

Doctors who are International Medical Graduates (IMG) with limited experience of reproductive and sexual health in Australia.

Course structure

It is essential participants complete the required activities before attending the workshop to gain critical knowledge and ensure full participation during the course.

Eligibility / Prerequisite

Current general, provisional or limited registration or application for registration with Medical Board of Australia.

Adequate professional indemnity insurance is required and is the sole responsibility of the participant.

All learning materials and reference books are included in the course costs.

Recognition / Accreditation

Participants who attend the whole course will receive a Statement of Attendance.
