Clinical Placement for Nurses and Midwives

Course description

Family Planning Australia provides clinical skills workshop and supervised clinical placements for the Reproductive and Sexual Health - Clinical Accreditation Program for nurses and midwives.

The clinical placement requires participants to attend a clinical skills workshop day to demonstrate their understanding of essential practical skills. Participants will then meet core competencies across a 32-hour placement. In conjunction with our experienced clinical instructors in Newington, Penrith, Hunter, and Fairfield, course participants will gain hands-on experience with the appropriate range of reproductive and sexual health issues required to complete your course. This includes history taking, contraception, cervical screening, STIs, pregnancy options, and men's health.

Who should attend?

This placement is only available to registered nurses and midwives who have completed the Reproductive and Sexual Health - Clinical Accreditation Program theory component within the last 12 months.
