What is the Cervical Screening Test?

The Cervical Screening Test looks for Human Papillomavirus (HPV) in the cervix.

Cervical Screening Tests can help prevent cervical cancer. It is not a test for cancer.

It is recommended you have the test every 5 years.

The test is quick and pain free.

Who should have a Cervical Screening Test?

Women aged between 25 and 74 should have the test.

Women who have ever been sexually active should have the test.

Women who are no longer sexually active should still have the test.

• a Family Planning NSW Clinic
• a Women's Health Centre
• your local doctor or GP
