Overview of Study

A randomised study to compare the effect of a new contraceptive pill, Qlaira®, to Microgynon®, on symptoms of headache and pelvic pain in the pill free period in otherwise healthy women.

Objectives of study

Women aged 18-50 years, suffering from pelvic pain or headache during the pill-free week, were invited to participate in this study. Participants were randomised to either Qlaira® or Microgynon® for a six month period. Participants' experiences and symptoms of pelvic pain and headache were recorded and assesed over an eight month period.
