Overview of Study

A randomised study to compare the effects on women's libido of a new contraceptive pill, Qlaira®, against Microgynon®, a combined oral contraceptive pill available in Australia.

Objectives of study

Generally healthy women aged between 18-50 years, who were on the contraceptive pill and suffering from reduced libido believed to be related to the pill, were invited to participate in this study. Participants experiences of loss of libido were assessed and subjects were randomised into taking Qliara®,  or Microgynon for 6 months.
