Medical Practitioners (including GPs and GP Registrars) who want a solid knowledge base in the area of reproductive and sexual health.

Course description

This two-day course is designed to provide participants with practical, evidence-based knowledge in contraception, sexually transmissible infections (STIs), unplanned pregnancy options, cervical cancer screening, menopause and other topics in reproductive and sexual health.

Entry requirements / eligibility

Applicants must be a Medical Practitioner and have current medical registration with the Medical Board of Australia. Adequate Professional Indemnity Insurance is the sole responsibility of the participant.

  • To provide evidence-based information in reproductive and sexual health
  • To enable participants to implement acquired knowledge in their clinical practice


'Family Planning NSW Short Course in Reproductive and Sexual Health Theory Certificate' will be issued subject to completion of prerequisite activities, full attendance and completion of the evaluation form.

Pre-reading and related activities are made available on-line one week prior to attendance at the workshop. It is estimated these activities will take approximately no more than 1.5 hours.  This package consists of online activities, case studies, and videos. It is to be completed prior to a participant attending a face to face workshop. It is an expectation that all participants complete the online content before they attend their face to face workshop. Completion of the online content will enhance pre-workshop knowledge and skills and will ensure a satisfactory face to face and practicum experience.
