About this Learning Program

    To increase participants' knowledge, skills and confidence in providing support to people with intellectual disability to access cervical, breast and bowel cancer screening.

  • Learning outcomes

    At the completion of the program you will be able to:

    1. Explain why cervical, breast and bowel cancer screening is important
    2. Describe the screening pathway for cervical, breast and bowel screening in NSW
    3. Identify the barriers and enablers in accessing cancer screening services for people with intellectual disability
    4. Plan a cancer screening conversation for people with intellectual disability you support by using the Just Checking Resources
    5. Outline strategies to establish a supportive environment for a conversation about cancer screening
